The math is visible, and the limits stay visible too

Sleep Better Timer works backward from a wake-up time or forward from bedtime/current time. It uses your fall-asleep estimate plus 6, 5, 4, and 3 approximate 90-minute cycle windows, then shows the longer sleep opportunities first.

The tool is useful because it keeps the arithmetic honest: 15 minutes to fall asleep shifts every result by 15 minutes, and crossing midnight is handled as a date change, not a guess. Use the times as planning windows, not as a promise about how refreshed you will feel.

Good to know

Questions, answered softly

Are sleep cycles exactly 90 minutes?

No. Ninety minutes is a convenient planning estimate, while real sleep cycles vary by person and across the night. Treat the results as a few possible windows, not exact targets.

Does time to fall asleep count?

Yes. The calculator adds or subtracts your selected fall-asleep estimate. With the default 15 minutes, every bedtime or wake-up result moves 15 minutes earlier or later than a zero-latency calculation.

Which result should I choose?

When your schedule allows it, the longer options provide more sleep opportunity. The shorter options are shown for context, not as a routine recommendation.

Already heading to bed?

Skip the inputs. Plan your wake-up windows straight from the current time on your device.
